Privacy policy
Last updated: July 2026
This policy describes how this website ("we," "us"), operated by Taylor Ealand, an attorney with Hatmaker Law Group, collects, uses, and protects information on ealandlaw.com. We wrote it to be read, not skimmed past. The short version: we collect only what you choose to give us, we use it only to evaluate and respond to your request, and we never sell it.
Information we collect
- Identifiers you provide: your name, phone number, and email address, if you submit the case review form.
- Employment information you provide: the employer name(s) you identify and your answers to our screening questions (whether you worked in California, the general timeframe, and whether you are still employed).
- Sensitive information you choose to share: the nature of your concern (for example, harassment, assault, or pregnancy discrimination). We ask for the general category only; we intentionally do not ask you to describe what happened in this form.
- Technical basics: like most websites, our hosting provider logs standard technical data (such as IP address and browser type) to operate and secure the site. We do not use advertising trackers or sell analytics data.
How we use it
- To run a conflict-of-interest check before we speak with you.
- To evaluate your request and contact you about it.
- To comply with our legal and professional obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We use sensitive personal information only to provide the service you requested, which is the use permitted by California law without further notice.
Who can see it
Form submissions are transmitted encrypted and delivered to our legal team through our website hosting provider (Netlify, which processes submissions on our behalf). They are not shared with your employer, and they are not shared with third parties except as required by law or as needed to operate the site.
Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we have collected about you, to request that we delete it, to correct inaccurate information, and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the form on our homepage or by mail at our Fresno, California office. We will verify your identity and respond within the time required by law.
Retention
We keep intake submissions as long as needed to evaluate the matter, run conflict checks, and meet our professional-responsibility and record-keeping obligations, and then delete them.
A note on confidentiality
Submitting the form does not create an attorney-client relationship. Even so, we treat what you send us as confidential and use it only as described here.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date above.
